2015 vs. 2016 Petits Chateaux
2015 vs. 2016 Petits Chateaux
Five years after his very well applauded presentation of 2009 and 2010 Petits Châteaux to the Society we welcome back Richard Bampfield MW to repeat the feat with wines from another terrific pair of adjacent vintages. With the wines shown side by side he will help resolve the dilemma of which vintage you would prefer to have in your cellar, and why. This tasting expresses perfectly the opportunity represented by the Bordeaux Petits Châteaux: delicious, high quality red wines at prices which offer terrific value, as evidenced by the scores below from Neal Martin. We trust that our selection of two merlot based and two cabernet sauvignon based wines will make for a very enjoyable and enlightening tasting.
We will taste the following wines:-
Château La Chenade 2015 (Lalande de Pomerol) (91-93 NM)
Château La Chenade 2016 (Lalande de Pomerol) (90-92 NM)
Château Marsau (Côtes de Francs) 2015 (89-91 NM)
Château Marsau (Côtes de Francs) 2016 (87-89 NM)
Château Beaumont (Haut-Medoc) 2015 (90 NM)
Château Beaumont (Haut-Medoc) 2016 (88-90 NM)
Château Fourcas-Dupré (Listrac) 2015 (91-93 NM)
